The largest digital printing plant in the world

Wobz  has a modern plant located in Veyziat, France, in the Ain department. It is a connected facility with a high technology, responsible for two main business areas: Manufacturing of products marketed by the different brands: Cupkiller, Dalvin, Verre de France and Gobelets.com Research and development of printing technologies and machines adapted to specific projects. The plant is also a test laboratory. This industrial branch, managed by Jean Pierre Rousselet and Stéphane Deramecourt, is the result of a marriage between Wobz and SMTD. Jean Pierre Rousselet is a historical manufacturer of machines and producer of printed cups. He is also the founder of SMTD with his associate Jean Luc Perret. This company was born in 2004 with the aim of developing printing by manufacturing machines and producing personalized objects. It could not be done without an innovative technology: digital inkjet printing. SMTD quickly became the pioneer of this type of printing on a global level.
In 2015, Jean Pierre met Damien Fauve and Sylvain Grasset. At the time, both of them were looking to create a machine to print their products. After a few meetings between France and Italy, they quickly agreed that Jean Pierre had all the expertise to design their own inkjet printer. The Wobz/SMTD marriage was sealed.

A near future

Among the short and medium term objectives of this industry, we would like to highlight:

  • The development of inkjet and high-tech printing methods on new mediums, for example, on cosmetics
  • Designing new machines
  • The conquest of the international market

Wobz/SMTD has the only plant in the world with the largest digital inkjet printing process on objects, a 100% Made in France Know-How with an ongoing development.

Wobz Industries / SMTD possède la seule usine au monde avec la plus grande chaîne d’impression digitale par jet d’encre sur objet, un savoir-faire 100% Made in France en constant développement.

 Our machines : our Know-How

In the plant, five machines are constantly working, providing different personalization lines for various types of objects.

The machine park is made of:

  • Juracyl 70 (cups)
  • Juraplat (plastic objects)
  • Saga (plastic, search and development trials)
  • Flex Verre (Glass)
  • Digicup (cups)

All of them carry the Jean Pierre Rousselet patent, that is to say, Wobz Industries/SMTD. They share the production to ensure a rate of 30,000 pieces / hour, whatever the number of different designs. Two printing lines are dedicated to the cups. The first one is dedicated to products made of glass. Another one is made for products made of glass. The fourth one goes to plastic objects with complex shapes and the last one makes the flat printing at very high speed.
